In 2009, the director Imtiaz Ali charmed us with a movie about love and longing. The film was ‘Love Aaj Kal.’ It revolved around two love stories of different eras perfectly woven together. With his cinematic excellence, the director showed us the affinity of love in two different times.

The film had Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, and even after these many years of release, the story, the songs, the acting, and the dialogues still linger in our memories.

Imtiaz Ali revisits the same theme in 2020, with the second installment from the same franchise. This time around with Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, and Imtiaz Ali attempt to bring the same magic back to the screen.

The film takes you to an exciting sojourn of love and life through phases of rebirth. In the movie, you see the challenges of a relationship in today’s times. Furthermore, it shows the differences and similarities of the challenges faced by couples in the past.

The film will traverse the distance from 1990 to 2020 through its storyline. You have two love stories that are with its contrast and correlation in two ears. The confrontations remain the same irrespective of the times. While one couple faces the restrictions of the society, whereas other has to learn to manage the have work-life balance, it is the common thread of love that binds the couple.

In the film, Sara Ali Khan comes across as a breath of fresh air; her screen presence has a lot of gravity. Kartik Aaryan is in a double role, and Arushi Sharma also delivers a decent performance. However, it is Sara Ali Khan that steals all the attention.

His differential approach towards the craft of film making is exceptional.
The actors lead by Sara Ali Khan, and Kartik Aaryan is impressive. The story, the direction, songs, and the scenes together bring a unique glee to the audience.

It’s on 14th February, folks. With Love Aaj Kal, now you have more good reasons to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your partner.
